Outer Banks Fishing Report

May
11
Things were still slow offshore today, but the weather was pretty nice.

We had another wonderful group again today. Of course, everybody wants to catch a lot, but these guys enjoyed being offshore and with each other. Fishing was slow, but we had a great time just the same. I headed pretty far to the south again today, in hopes of finding the warmer water had pushed in a little closer. It is moving in the right direction, but it's taking it's sweet time. Anyway, I think things are looking better and we should be getting in to some good fishing soon. Today we caught three dolphin out in the deep, dropped to the bottom a few times and came up with a couple of tiles and a rosefish, and one amberjack. We heard reports of some mako shark sightings, so we spent some time this afternoon trying for one. We got lucky and caught a small one, but he was a little too short to be legal. I think one of the guys got a good shot of the shark so it'll be posted when I get it. Thanks, Steve, for a great day on the water.
