We covered a lot of ground today, searching for the pot of gold, and were rewarded with some nice tuna!
I started off simply going to the mega deep, in search of pretty water and life. We found all of these things, but no bites. I got a report from up the road, and after a brief discussion with my party, decided to take a chance and steam that way. We didn't fish too long after we set lines back out, before we caught two out of three
yellowfins. It was a while after that, but we got struck one more time in the afternoon and landed three out of six. The yellowfins we caught today were 55-65 pounders. My group was glad we made the move, and so was I. Further south was some
king mackerel action, a scattered tuna, and some good bottom fishing.
