Outer Banks Fishing ReportMay
20 Today the wind breezed back up out of the southwest, and plenty of it. The fishing was good none the less.
Today started out almost like yesterday, doubleheader wahoos, although these were a little bigger than yesterday's. The wind was breezing up as I worked down the break, and I didn't figure we would have all day. A half hour later we hooked a tripple on wahoos, and landed two of them. Ten more minutes passed before we pulled of our sixth wahoo bite. I trolled off the break, and we caught three nice gaffer dolphin, followed by two singles within the next hour. By then the wind was blowing the tops off the waves, and I figured I better start working that way. We didn't have any more bites as we worked back inshore, but some of the other boats had bites as they shallowed up. I'd call it good fishing, especially with the wahoos showing up. ![]() ![]() Fishing Blog Archive
