Outer Banks Fishing ReportApr
6 A few boats fished one day last week, had a sign of yellowfins. I know things are getting started slow, but I think some good fishing is about to be upon us.
Due to the big southerly swell this morning, the half dozen of us that had trips all headed out southeast of the tower for a reasonably nice ride. We spread out, and I wound up working out over 500 fathoms, in search of the ''pot of gold''. I gave up and worked back in to 40 fathoms for the afternoon. We hooked three nice fish, probably wahoos or tunas, but lost all three. I took advantage of the chance to work to the southwest, and had some action near the end of the day. We didn't have a lot of time to work, but within a half hour's time, we caught two wahoos, one yellowfin, a bonita, and had several other quality bites that got away. I am hopeful that things are getting ready to break loose! ![]() Fishing Blog Archive
