Outer Banks Fishing ReportApr
18 I'd say fishing was a little better today overall.
The surprising news for today was that there was probably 10 blue marlin seen! Only two or three caught, but it was cool to know that there are some around. There was a random yellowfin bite, and there was maybe three boats that got hit and landed four or five. This afternoon there seemed to be a fair number of wahoo bites as well. We caught a small gaffer dolphin this morning, but didn't have any more action for a long time. I offered the option of bottom fishing to my party, and they were all over it. What was cool was that while we bottom fished, Justin got out one of the jigging poles, and we caught three kings and a couple nice jacks at the same time. The bottom fishing was great, and we caught 25 or so B-liners (vermillion snappers) in the time we did it. It turned out to be a beautiful day as well.< ![]() ![]() Fishing Blog Archive
