What a gorgeous Memorial Day weekend. Light southwest winds, and steady big
dolphin action.
Anybody who knows me, knows where I'm likely to be found on a busy, crowded day on the water, such as today. The first good current edge we came to was already wrapped up with boats, so I kept truckin' out to 150 fathoms before I even slowed down. After that I trolled offshore, out over 1000 fathoms. We were hoping for a
blue marlin bite, which we never had, but managed to be content with an occasional gaffer
dolphin bite. The first bite of the day was a 32 pounder, and what's cool was that the young lady that caught it had never caught a fish before! We all had a great time. Jay was at the boat this afternoon, but I have assigned him to a couple more days of rest before going at it again. He looked better though.
