Things improved today all around.
The catches varried today from poor to great, depending on when and where you were. Overall though, there were considerably more bites around the fleet than there have been lately. I headed to the south, and found green water over the bottom I wanted to fish, so I worked offshore to find better water. After a pretty good stretch without a bite, we hooked and landed a pair of 60 pound
yellowfins. After that, we caught a couple small gaffers. It seemed like the boats up the line were starting to get a few more bites, so I worked that way. We had a few bites that we didn't connect with, but we did catch a small
wahoo, and right at the end caught another
yellowfin. By then the 25 knot north wind had subsided and the ride home wasn't bad at all.
