Today Jay celebrated his birthday, but I can't disclose his age. I managed to put him on a few tunas for his birthday present!
Finally a calm, beautiful day. Only trouble was that everybody in the world that owned a boat was out. Oh well, they've got as much right as I do, it was just crowded. Anyway, there was a scattered bite all around the fleet, a few gaffers here and there, a few tunas, and
wahoos. There was even a
white marlin caught this afternoon. I fished on the eastern end, and we scrapped out a nice catch of seven tunas, all 40 pounders. There were a lot of mako sharks around, but we didn't have to deal with one of those for very long, just lost one rig to one. The current was slack, so my group agreed to let me drop down to get my dinner, a few tiles, before we headed home.<sc
