Outer Banks Fishing ReportApr
21 I guess overall fishing was ok today, some guys did pretty good, and for others it was scrappy.
The north winfd continued to blow today, but this afternoon it fell out, and the ride home was great. After a week of it, however, the current has been running to the southwest, and the change has pushed out a good ways. The water we fished in today was on the green side, and 69 degrees. MOst of the bites were along the change, if you found a good spot, you were in luck. We started pretty far to the south, and caught a single 50 pounder in 80 fathoms. I fished around there for a while, plenty of life, but no m ore bites. The bite sounded pretty sparse, so I decided to make a couple bottom drops. We caught two or three groupers, but the wind and current made it difficult to work. There seemed to be a little more trolling action by then, so we went back with plan A. I got on the change and worked up the beach, and we did have a handful of tuna bites working to the northeast, but our luck was pethetic and we pulled them all off. Finally we got struck and caught three out of five. Whew, I was glad to see them! Tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous, and so is Monday. I need a trip for Monday, so give me a call! ![]() ![]() Fishing Blog Archive
