Outer Banks Fishing ReportFeb
27 I know everybody is sick of hearing about current, trust me, I'm sick of talking about it. We had four knots or better today. Not only was fishing slow, it wasn't as pretty as I had hoped.
I got a report from a couple days ago that the current had fallen out, and there was beautiful blended water southeast of the tower. I headed east of that a little ways this morning, but the 5-10 knot winds we were forcasted to have were more like 20-25. On top of that, the overdose of current caused fishing to be slow and stacked the seas up nicely. We had four single tuna bites for the day, landing two, a 40 pounder and a 20 pounder. We saw a lot of life, including turtles, rays, porpoise, whales, lots and lots of hammerhead sharks and a mako shark. There was a lot of bird life, and you would have thought that there would be more bites. I did hear a couple guys in private boats talking about a couple of wahoo bites too. ![]() Fishing Blog Archive
