After what seemed like a month, we finally got back offshore, but the fishing was on the slow side. The bottom fish bailed us out once again.
We missed a
sailfish while setting our lines out this morning, and after that I fished down the southern break for five miles, with only one bite (probably a
wahoo), but we missed him. I tried a few bottom drops, and we scored with a handful of silver snappers, a few triggers, and one nice amberjack. Ten miles of trolling back up 80-90 fathoms only produced three
dolphin, so I tried another bottom spot. We caught a couple of nice snowy groupers and an almaco jack at that spot. My group will eat good tonight!
