Outer Banks Fishing ReportJan
13 It was not your typical January day, slick calm, and t-shirts. Fishing could have been better though.
My group had their hearts set on catching tuna, so we headed back up to the east. Unfortunately we were greeted with five knots of current, and almost no bites. I found some good water that crossed a spot I like, and we fished it for an hour or so, till the hot water pushed in and screwed that up too. We had four tuna bites, and landed three of them. Believe it or not, we were one of the lucky boats. There were a couple boats to the south, and they had a few wahoo bites, and caught some dolphin. It sounds weird reporting dolphin catches in January, but we're just dealing with the facts here. I think I'm gonna head south tomorrow.<s ![]() Fishing Blog Archive
