Nothing good ever comes out of a southeaster, but the fishing was pretty good today.
We were greeted with a fairly rough ride out this morning, so I took the shortest passage to some fish. The kings bit pretty good, and we limited out this morning. A southeaster destroys anything resembling a grass line, and streaks out the grass so it is difficult to fish. The last couple of days, there has been no shortage of grass, but nearly impossible to keep baits clean. We did catch one nice gaffer, and found a school of bailers, that we caught ten or so out of. My party had enough, so we headed in early, but the boats that made it further out wound up having a fair number of marlin bites, along with a scattered gaffer. I'd like to see this southeaster die out, we'll have to wait and see.
