I made up my mind to stay in the shallows today, and we picked at the
dolphin all day.
It was kind of a squally sou'wester today, and most of the fleet stayed inside 50 fathoms all day. I got on a thin grass streak this morning, and caught a handful of gaffers and bailers. After that we scrapped along, a bite every now and then, mostly small to medium gaffers. In the afternoon, I shallowed up even more, and caught a few kings, and a few more
dolphin. No marlin reported, and just a couple of
wahoo and a few tuna in the fleet.
