Outer Banks Fishing Report

Nothing like a cool calm fall morning. Perfect weather, and great fishing.

After yesterday, I had made up my mind that I was gonna head a little more to the south, to fish in some pretty water for a change. When I got up this morning and checked out the satellite shot, it looked like the water had blended out over the bottom we fished yesterday, so I was willing to try it again, and so was my party. The day started out great. We hooked a sailfish, and while we were fighting him, we hooked a white marlin, and managed to land and release both. The pressure was off already! After that, and during the rest of the day, we picked away at the tunas, mostly singles, with an occasional double. The class of fish was really nice, we had three in the 65 pound class, one 50 pounder, a half dozen 40's and one 20 pounder. There were a lot of dolphin around a color change, but we tried to avoid them today. There were some really nice catches of dolphin and wahoo to the south, and it sounded like some fall size kings showing up. <BR>I need some trips for this week!
